FKJGP to hold protest rally against unemployment on Oct 28

The central executive committee of the FKJGP organization is holding a public rally on October 28 at 11 am from Motphran to Fire Brigade Ground in Laitumkhrah

TURA:

The Federation of Khasi Jaintia Garo People (FKJGP) from Garo Hills has cautioned the government over the rising problem of unemployment of the youths in the state which has prompted its central body to stage a rally in Shillong on October 28, and warned that similar protests would also be chalked out in the Garo Hills region.

“Similar demonstrations will be held in different parts of Garo Hills in later dates unless and until the Government gives our youths better employment opportunities, which we feel is long overdue,” announced FKJGP Garo Hills zone president Pritam Marak in a communiqué to the media in Tura on October 26.

The central executive committee of the FKJGP organization is holding a public rally on October 28 at 11 am from Motphran to Fire Brigade Ground in Laitumkhrah that will be followed by a public meeting at 2 PM to raise the issue of rising unemployment among the youth in the state.

“No positive steps have been initiated by the government to increase employment for the youth of the state which is negatively affecting the productivity of our youths, consequently driving many of them towards unethical ways and means for earning a living,” points out the FKJGP Garo Hills zone president.

Terming it nothing short of pity, he said that the youth who happen to be the future of any society are not being provided sufficient opportunities to hone their talent and earn their rightful place in society.

“It should be the imperative of all youths to demand what is being denied to them, and demand for what rightfully belongs to them in a democratic manner. The rally cum public meeting being organized by the FKJGP CEC is a testament that the youths will not hold back anymore if any Government/Governments fail to provide what they rightfully deserve,” said the organization president.
