SHILLONG:
Former Congress leader Augustine D Marak, and 200 supporters from different parties joined the opposition All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) on January 31.
This came a day after he resigned as the Vice-President of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).
Marak was a three-time MLA of Dadenggre in 2008 ,1998 and 1993. He was also the former minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, and Home (Civil Defence and Home Guards) to the Government of Meghalaya.
He was the Samajwadi Party candidate from Raksamgre in 2013 assembly elections following which he also became the NPP candidate from Tikrikilla in 2018 assembly elections.
