SHILLONG:
Former Home Minister and ex-Sohiong MLA HDR Lyngdoh filed his nomination to contest the upcoming polls from the Sohiong constituency on a UDP ticket.
After a long stint with Congress, Lyngdoh left the grand old party to join the United Democratic Party (UDP) last year.
He unsuccessfully contested the 2018 assembly election on a Congress ticket. His defeat to former HSPDP MLA Samlin Malngiang was one of the unexpected and shocking results of the last elections.
