G20 Janbhagidari initiatives empower SWGH communities

Several schools across the district participated in the series of events which were organised throughout the week, including wall painting, storytelling, Math Mela, TLM Exhibition, among other cultural events. The participants and winners of various events and activities were awarded certificates and prizes.

TURA:

The Office of the District Mission Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), South West Garo Hills district, Ampati, in line with the Ministry of Education, organised a series of activities and programmes under the banner of G20 Janbhagidari, at Multi Facility Centre, Ampati Market, on Thursday.

The event was held in the context of blended learning, aiming to promote and endorse the theme of “Ensuring Foundation Literacy and Numeracy, (FLN)”.

Several schools across the district participated in the series of events which were organised throughout the week, including wall painting, storytelling, Math Mela, TLM Exhibition, among other cultural events. The participants and winners of various events and activities were awarded certificates and prizes.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills Y W Momin; District School Education Officer, T Ch Marak; Subdivisional School Education Officer, E Marak; teachers, students and their parents were present in the event.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest during the closing program, Y W Momin remembered her experiences as a school student, where learning facilities and teaching materials were not easily available to make the learning interesting. Momin added that students should maintain a positive mindset for a positive outcome.

Meanwhile, T Ch Marak expressed his gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement and valuable contributions.

The Janbhagidari events made clear how crucial it is for everyone to actively participate in shaping the future of the South West Garo Hills future. Instilling pride in the G20, National Education Policy, and FLN among various stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, and the society at large, has produced noticeable effects and laid a solid platform for further development.

The event aimed to foster public participation and citizen engagement in the G20 process, bringing together key stakeholders from various sectors to discuss and contribute to the important global issues addressed by the G20 forum, and provided an opportunity to the local community and school students to voice their opinions, share insights and display their talent during Maths and Science exhibitions.

Events conclude in Tura

The Jan Bhagidhari events organised by the District Mission Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), West Garo Hills district, Tura concluded with the distribution of prizes to winners of various competitions which were held at SMELC, Dakopgre, Tura, on Thursday.

Addressing the gathering, Advisor, ICFAI University, Tura Viola Sonatchi B Sangma, who was also the chief guest at the occasion said that she could witness the change that is happening in the education department and the effort of the officials to bring change and transformation.

Mentioning the Child Centric Education System for the holistic development of a child, she said that the government has introduced different learning modules so that children are more interested and can learn their lessons in an easier way, further emphasising on learning and understanding the English language.

In his keynote address, Sub-Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO) and Block Mission Coordinator, Rongram C & RD Block Samuel Ch Marak highlighted the objectives and purpose of Jan Bhagidhari events held under the banner of G-20 to promote Foundational Literacy and Numeracy and implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 including participation of active citizens in shaping the future of the students thereby building a strong foundation for future growth of the people of the region.

Marak informed that the Nipun Bharat Mission under the Ministry of Education aims to reform the education system and cover the learning needs of children in the age group of 3 to 9 years.

The event provided an opportunity for students to participate in different competitions – TLM exhibition, story-telling, quiz, among others. The chief guest distributed certificates and prizes to the winners.

Administrative and Accounts Officer, SSA, Tura D K Newar; Urban Mission Coordinator, Tura Sentfilson B Marak were among others who spoke on the occasion.
