Goodricke Group launches 4 exclusive brands of Assam single estate tea

The products were launched in commemoration of the 200 glorious years of the Assam tea industry.

GUWAHATI:

Goodricke Group Limited, an India-based tea-producing company with its headquarters in West Bengal, launched four exclusive brands of Assam single estate tea at a programme at Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (GTAC) Tea Lounge on March 3.

The products were launched in commemoration of the 200 glorious years of the Assam tea industry.

“The Assam single estate tea are exclusive offering of Goodricke Group with select teas from four of our own tea estates namely Dejoo, Harmutty, Amgoorie and Borbam tea estate located in Brahmaputra Valley,” said Atul Asthana, managing director and CEO of Goodricke Group Limited.

The Assam single estate range has both CTC and Orthodox teas and is named after their tea gardens and is crafted with the finest handpicked leaves. The four varieties come with malty and musky notes and are the first choice for tea sommeliers for their rich texture, smoothness and full-bodied liquor.

Asthana reiterated Goodricke Group’s commitment to bring quality and authentic tea experiences to consumers.

Referring to Goodricke’s Assam single estate, Asthana asserted that the single estate teas are a tribute to Assam tea connoisseurs who look for a rich, superior and authentic taste of the finest Assam teas.

“I can’t express my immense happiness on this momentous occasion. Goodricke Group has taken this initiative when Assam tea industry is completing 200 glorious years,” Arunita Phukan Yadav, executive director of Tea Board of India, North Eastern Zonal Office, Guwahati.

Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (GTAC) Tea Lounge chairman Dinesh Bihani welcomed the offerings of best quality teas of Goodricke Group Single origin orthodox & CTC teas.

He also urged other industry quality producers to sell their products through GTAC Tea lounge to promote Assam tea.

“Now this Tea Lounge is attracting more tourists and customers across the country,” Bihani added.

The event was attended by the vice-president of Consumer Division PT Krishnan; Goodricke Group general manager (operations), Talat Ahmed among others.

Goodricke Group Limited is a part of the UK-based Camellia PLC UK – the world’s largest private-sector tea producer. The company has a total of 12 tea gardens in Assam with 10 in Brahmaputra valley and two in Barak valley.
