The Governor of Meghalaya Pradesh B. D. Mishra has conveyed his greetings to children and the people of the state on the occasion of Children’s Day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India,Jawaharlal Nehru.
In his message to the people the Governor said that children, on account of their tenderness, fragility and innocence, exclusively depend on their parents / guardians and the society at large for their growth, life sustenance and physical well being. Every adult in the nation therefore owes it to her or his child or ward to afford the children the best facilities to grow up in a healthy and happy atmosphere. He added that good upbringing of children, nurtures a better future for all. We must, therefore, provide our children with the best opportunities to harness their potential and imbibe good values, so that they become ideal citizens of our state, he said. Children’s Day, is a special reminder for every parent / guardian and also the society to give all facilities to the children to enable them to progress with knowledge, dignity, confidence and compassion, he further added.
