SHILLONG:
The Home (Police) department has promoted IPS officers P Muthu and DP Marak as Inspector General of Police (IGP) with effect from Jan 1, 2024.
According to order issued on December 19, Muthu, who is on central deputation, is allowed proforma promotion with effect from the date his immediate junior Marak is promoted.
On promotion and in the interest of public service and on the recommendation of the Civil Services Board, Marak who was Deputy Inspector General of Police (SB), Shillong, has been posted as Inspector General of Police (SB/Border), Shillong, against the existing vacancy.
