Grade IV recruitment delayed due to HC restrictions: RTI findings

According to Disparsing Rani the RTI revealed that 1,16,563 applicants have applied for the posts, and the amount collected as examination fees is Rs 57,88,367.

SHILLONG:

The government is yet to fix the examination and interview dates for the 119 Grade IV posts advertised recently in view of the restrictions imposed by the Meghalaya High Court order dated April 5, 2022, informed RTI activist Disparsing Rani, on June 27.

“In this connection, the RTI reply stated that the matter is under process and examination will be conducted in due course of time,” Rani told the press.

According to the activist, the RTI revealed that a total of 1,16,563 applicants have applied for the posts, and the amount collected as examination fees is Rs 57,88,367.

Rani also raised concerns of misconduct within the concerning departments alleging that genuine officers are sidelined from getting promoted, while those with political links, were promoted.

Meanwhile, Rani has also filed a fresh RTI to the MeECL with regard to the electricity connection in Harijan Colony as PIO of MeECL informed that they received no such RTI application.
