SHILLONG:
The Federation of Khasi Jaiñtia and Garo People (FKJGP) on Friday took up the issue of lack of teachers in the Law Department of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU).
During the meeting of the FKJGP members with the Head of Department, Chintamani Rout, he informed that they had sent four applications to the Vice Chancellor of NEHU to recruit lecturers but there is no reply yet from the university authorities.
Assistant Education secretary of the FKGJP Gabriel Sun informed that there are only seven law teachers for 35 subjects.
Sun informed that for the non law subjects like English, Sociology, Political Science and Economics there are no lecturers.
