Guv clears names of new executive committee members of GHADC

The new list also includes two members of district councils (MDCs) outside the National People's Party (NPP) who provided crucial support to the alliance and helped it retain power after an attempt by the opposition All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) to unseat the ruling dispensation.

Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik, on March 19, cleared names of ten new members of the Executive Committee of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) to take charge of the council administration under CEM Albinush Marak from March 21.

The new list includes two members of district councils (MDCs) outside the National People’s Party (NPP) who provided crucial support to the alliance and helped it retain power after an attempt by the opposition All India Trinamool Congress to unseat the ruling dispensation.
Regional United Democratic Party (UDP) MDC Ashahel D Shira and rebel Trinamool MDC Stevie Mark have been included in the new executive committee (EC) of Marak.

The committee also includes Garo National Council MDC Nikman Marak as the deputy CEM.
The other members who have become executive members are two brothers-in-law of chief minister Conrad K Sangma– Grahambell A Sangma and Anseng A Sangma, and two independent MDCs, Arbinstone B Marak and Nathwalal S Marak. NPP MDCs Henen R Sangma, Linekar K Sangma, Sengbath R Marak also made it to the new EC.
