NONGSTOIN:
Heavy rain that lasted for hours in the wee hours of June 17 inundated many parts of Nongstoin, the headquarters of West Khasi Hills district.
The heavy downpour also caused the water level at Non-bah and Non-dein rivers to rise and overflow to the localities located next to the bank of the two rivers in New Nongstoin, and many parts of Tiehsaw village.
Several incidents of landslide and flash floods were also reported from different parts of West Khasi Hills, disrupting vehicular movement in the district.
