NONGPOH:
An elderly man was killed in a hit and run accident in Ribhoi district on August 26. The victim, identified as Shri Hamanroy Cajee, 56, was an employee of the Agriculture Department in Shillong.
Cajee was on his way home from work when he was struck by an unknown vehicle at Lumumpih around 5pm. He was rushed to the Umsning Civil Hospital, but was declared brought dead by doctors.
Following the event, Umiam’s OC and Lad Umsaw’s IC were informed and instructed to detain any black vehicle with a damaged sign on the right side of the vehicle as a potential accident suspect.
