NONGPOH:
The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization (HITO), Byrnihat unit, on September 12, lodged a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner’s office alleging that the earth cutting work undertaken by a company at Narbong, Umjojwa in Byrnihat has affected vehicular movement in the area, causing inconvenience to the people.
Speaking to media persons, a member of HITO Kapil Kurbah, said that the work is being carried by the company of Utam Jhunjhunwala, and that HITO had sought information as to on what grounds the work was being done, but the reply has been unsatisfactory.
Taking all this into account, the HITO has asked the Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi to intervene in the matter and direct the firm to stop the work and clear the road to ease traffic movement.
