SHILLONG:
One person was injured on Saturday night at around 9 pm after he was attacked with a sharp weapon.
The victim, 25-year-old Dines Mynsong, is a member of the Hynniewtrep National Youth Movement (HNYM). He was admitted to the Civil Hospital here after miscreants slit his throat at Mawblei.
Mynsong was shifted to the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) on Sunday morning.
He holds the post of vice president of the Mawjam unit under the Mawkynrew constituency.
The youth, who is reportedly out of danger, said that the persons who attacked him were most probably drug addicts.
Mynsong said that he was on his way home towards Laitkor from his place of work in Umpling when he was attacked, unprovoked.
Police are investigating the matter.
