HNYM seeks legal documents from IGGLM for implementing project in Ri Bhoi

The HNYM had made the demand after inspecting the site where the pipeline was being set up, and finding that the company has failed to procure legal documents from the Village and also from the competent authority of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).

NONGPOH:

The members of the Hynniewtrep National Youth Movement (HNYM) Ri Bhoi District, have given three days’ time to Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited Company Meghalaya (IGGLM) for preparing all documents before setting up the gas pipeline at Nongrim Nongladaw under Raid Bhoilasa at Bhoirymbong C&RD Block in Ri Bhoi.

The HNYM had made the demand after inspecting the site where the pipeline was being set up, and finding that the company has failed to procure legal documents from the Village and also from the competent authority of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).

The inspection to the site was led by the President, Petrius Khymdeit, Working President Khrawkupar Warjri, and other members of the HNYM. Members of the HYNM were also accompanied the Rangbah Shnong of Nongrim Nongladaw Karbius Lyngdoh.

Speaking to the media persons, Khymdeit said that the organisation has received several complaints from different quarters that the implementing agency of the pipeline project has failed to obtain legal documents for the project and also for hiring of labourers from the Dorbar Shnong of Nongrim Nongladaw.

Khymdeit said that during the inspection they met the project manager, Kashi Bishwanath, and sought the information from him on the same, but he failed to comply with their queries that compelled the organisation to set a three days ultimatum to the company to get all the legal documents from competent authorities in Meghalaya.

“We are shocked to learn that the agency has obtained the No Objection Certificate (NOC) and Labour Certificate from the office of the Raid Iapngar instead of obtaining the same from the Raid Bhoilasa, since the area where the project is being implemented falls under Raid Bhoilasa,” he said.
