HYC apprises Education Minister for more CUET centres in state

The organisation apprised the minister on the unavailability of CUET centres in the state, compelling the students of the state who are seeking admission for UG And PG courses into various institutions in the country to travel to Guwahati, Assam for attending the entrance examinations.

SHILLONG:

The Eduction Cell of the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) has written to the Education Minister Rakkam A. Sangma for creating and setting up more numbers of CUET (Common University Entrance Test) Centres in Meghalaya.

The organisation apprised the minister on the unavailability of CUET centres in the state, compelling the students of the state who are seeking admission for UG And PG courses into various institutions in the country to travel to Guwahati, Assam for attending the entrance examinations.

According to the organisation, writing the CUET examinations in other parts of the state has put the students in the distress and hardship as students have to encounter various issues while travelling to Guwahati, which entailed a high cost travel expenditure beside a long distance journey.

The organisation has appealed and stressed upon the government of Meghalaya to explore the steps and possibility of setting up a CUET centre within the state for students required for appearing in the entrance examination.

On the other hand, the organisation has also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma as well.
