GUWAHATI:
ICICI bank, on March 9, launched an electronic branch at the campus of the University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) to facilitate various banking requirements of the students and staff of the university.
USTM vice-chancellor Prof GD Sharma and ICICI’s regional head Saumar Sonowal inaugurated the bank branch.
USTM chancellor Mahbubul Hoque, ICICI’s regional head (sales Deepak Singh, USTM director (administration) Dr BK Das and USTM advisor Dr RK Sharma were also present on the occasion.
Thanking USTM, an official said that the branch at USTM will have ICICI employees and back-office staff will be there to handle day to day requirements of the customers.
According to officials, the much needed branch in the campus will be helpful for the students.
“We want to have a valued relationship with ICICI Bank. The branch at our campus will be helpful for students,” said USTM chancellor Mahbubul Hoque.
The bank’s willingness to come forward to adopt a department of USTM for its outreach activities is appreciable, he added.
