Indian Army inks MoA with RIMS Imphal for super speciality treatment to ex-servicemen 

“This MoA will facilitate, cashless and capless medical treatment to ESM beneficiaries and dependents of ECHS in Manipur to include Assam Rifles ECHS members at CGHS rates,” a Defence statement here said. 

GUWAHATI:

Indian Army signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), Imphal, on December 15, for multi-speciality and super-speciality treatment to Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) beneficiaries of Manipur

The RIMS Imphal is one of the premier multispecialty and super speciality medical facilities of the Northeast.

On behalf of Headquarters Eastern Command, Headquarters 101 Area, Shillong and Central Organisation, ECHS the MoA was signed by the regional director of Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, Guwahati with the director of RIMS, Imphal.

“This MoA will facilitate, cashless and capless medical treatment to ESM beneficiaries and dependents of ECHS in Manipur to include Assam Rifles ECHS members at CGHS rates,” a Defence statement here said.

“This will alleviate the difficulties of veterans and their dependents/ beneficiaries travelling to other states of Northeast, especially to Assam (at Guwahati) to get the multispeciality/super speciality medical cover,” the statement said.

To assist the ESMs in obtaining hassle-free treatment at RIMS, the local military authority has also established a help centre at RIMS which will be available to assist the veterans visiting the facility.

“The arrangement which is a first of this kind in Manipur has been part of the endeavour of the regional centre Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, Guwahati to provide holistic medical cover to the ESM of the Northeast under the supervision of Eastern Command and Headquarters 101 Area, Shillong,” it added.
