KHADC condoles demise of HDR Lyngdoh

Tabling a condolence resolution, KHADC chief Titosstarwell Chyne said, "This Council desires to place on record its profound grief and sorrow at the demise of Shri H Donkupar Roy Lyngdoh, former member of the KHADCand expresses its deepest sympathy to his wife Smt Bonnie Bell Rymmai, his children and all the members of the bereaved family."

The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on March 1  condoled the recent demise of its former executive member late H Donkupar Roy Lyngdoh, who was a contesting candidate of the United Democratic Party (UDP) from Sohiong constituency for the Assembly elections.

Lyngdoh, who was also a former home minister, passed away on February 20.
Tabling a condolence resolution, KHADC chief Titosstarwell Chyne said, “This Council desires to place on record its profound grief and sorrow at the demise of Shri H Donkupar Roy Lyngdoh, former member of the KHADCand expresses its deepest sympathy to his wife Smt Bonnie Bell Rymmai, his children and all the members of the bereaved family.”
He said late Lyngdoh was a member of the KHADC representing Nongspung – Sohiong constituency more than three terms from 1999-2004, 2004-2009 and 2009-2014.
Then in the election held in 2014, he contested and was reelected as MDC from the same constituency until he resgned on September 23, 2015.
As a member of the Council, he has held the post of executive member in the KHADC. He was also elected as MLA from 1988-1998 and from 2003-2018 who has for so many years served as cabinet minister and home minister besides occupying other important posts in the state of Meghalaya.
“As a member of the Council and the State Assembly he had contributed towards the welfare and interest of this Council, the District and the State as a whole. The vacuum caused by his death is greatly felt by us. May his soul rest in peace and may God grant strength and fortitude to the members of the bereaved family,” Chyne said.
Almost all the members from both ruling and opposition participated in the obituary resolution to pay their respect to the departed leader.
