KHNAM criticises govt for not paying heed to demands

According to Thomas Passah, the president of the KHNAM state youth wing, "the decision of Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, and the coalition partners of the MDA government to keep silent on the demand of the party to do away with the personal interview only shows that they are not serious about resolving the unemployment issue."

SHILLONG:

The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) criticised the MDA government on December 27 for its adamant attitude against their proposal to eliminate personal interview in the recruitment of government jobs.

According to Thomas Passah, the president of the KHNAM state youth wing, “the decision of Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, and the coalition partners of the MDA government to keep silent on the demand of the party to do away with the personal interview only shows that they are not serious about resolving the unemployment issue.”

He said that the party had already written to the state government to do away with the personal interview in order to eliminate corruption in the recruitment especially for the posts under group B, C and D as done in other states in the country.

“However, it is unfortunate that the state government and the MLAs have turned a deaf ear to this issue,” Passah added.

The KHNAM leader said that the party is preparing to take other course of action to ensure transparency in the job recruitment process.
