Voice of the People Party (VPP) legislator from North Shillong Adelbert Nongrum, on May 19, questioned the timing of the attack on a local taxi driver by miscreants at Khyndailad on May 18 evening.

Nongrum, who is also the local MLA, said it is unfortunate that such incidents are taking place in the city and demanded action against the perpetrators, but at the same time, expressed curiousness over the timing of the incident.
“It is something very unusual for the assault to happen at a time when our fight for a proper reservation policy is still on,” he said.
