SHILLONG:
Police have identified and apprehended the prime suspect involved in stabbing of one Zecharaiah Sohthiang on the night of March 18 at Khyndailad (Police Bazaar).
According to a press communique from the office of Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills district, a transgender aged (24) years involved in the said case was arrested and produced before the court on March 23, and the pen knife used in the commission was also recovered and seized from the accused.
According to the police, the victim who was stabbed had made conflicting statements regarding the place and time of occurrence as well as the description of the suspects, and police were making all efforts to solve the case.
Notably, the matter was also discussed in the Assembly, and had garnered attention from all sections.
