MEGHALAYA:
A group of young traditional musicians, “La Syrdoh,” from Mawwan Mylliem Syiemship , EKH, emerged as the winner of Meghalaya’s Got Talent Season 5 and received a cash prize of Rs 2 lakhs.
The season finale was held on March 4 at U Soso Tham Auditorium.
Speaking to The Meghalayan, president of the group, Akbarlang Syntengnongdhar said, “We’re overjoyed with the achievement and our effects paid off especially because our team is scattered as we belong to different places.”
He added that government intervention is the need of the hour, to enhance the skills of the people of the state, and that more events should come up as it provides a platform for people to showcase their talents.
Additionally, Sanita Jyrwa of Wahsohlait, Idaaijingsuk Lyngdoh Marshillong of Pongkung bagged the 1st and 2nd runners up title, with a cash prize of Rs 80k and Rs 50k, respectively.
Moreover, the act of the season was awarded to Insanylla Suting from Mawsna.
The panel of judges consisted of H Munish Singh, zonal director of ICCR, Northeast as the chief guest and Dr. Wandamika Lyngdoh as a special guest, Jolly Borah, Gracyl Ropmay and Sanat Basaiawmoit.
