NONGPOH:
A landslide took place at Pahammawlein 20th Mile in Ri Bhoi District on Tuesday.
The incident happened after heavy rainfall which led to road blockade in Pahammawlein that connects many villages like Shakoikuna, Umdap and others.
General secretary of Pahammawlein, G Peele Tangsang said that the landslide has affected many people who take this road to go to work.
Tangsang said that they had informed the PWD department but in vain.
Waiting for the PWD department for 5-6 hours, the locals decided to clean the debris by themselves.
The Khasi Students Union 20th Mile Circle led by Jayand Sylliang, advisor and Prince Abraham Sylliang, General secretary with the help of the villagers cleared the road.
