Lone KSU activist displays placard on ILP at PM’s convoy in Polo

KSU general secretary Donald V Thabah said that the union was left with no option but to display the placard since they could not get an appointment with the PM to highlight the various issues concerning the state.

SHILLONG:

A lone activist of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on December 18 displayed a placard demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s attention to the long pending demands which include the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP).

The KSU activist raised the placard while the PM’s convoy was leaving from Polo area.

The placard read, “To the Prime Minister – implement ILP, revoke CAA & Indo-Nepal treaty, fulfill Central Agricultural University, include Khasi Language in 8th Schedule, solve border disputes.”

KSU general secretary Donald V Thabah said that the union was left with no option but to display the placard since they could not get an appointment with the PM to highlight the various issues concerning the state.

He said that actually the Union had already submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister in November 2020.
