SHILLONG:
Cabinet Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, on May 15, said that the United Democratic Party (UDP) winning the Sohiong constituency is not a setback for the National People’s Party (NPP), and that the party will move ahead as there is no adversary between both the parties.
Briefing media persons on the Sohiong debacle, Lyngdoh said, “The election to the adjourned Sohiong seat constituency was keenly contested between the NPP and the UDP, both partners in the MDA government. We are now looking at going ahead in this coalition, and we hope that very shortly we will also be able to sit across the table to discuss our Common Minimum Programme (CMP).”
Stating that there should be no complications between both the parties in the MDA 2.0 government, she further said that the priority now is to work together.
