Madan Lingsyiem Mylliem, Eastern Pirates emerge winners in 1st Shortimai Knockout Football

Madan Lingsyiem Mylliem defeated Mawmluh Seng Samla 3-2 in the first match on Saturday in the 1st Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament, organised by Seng Samla Smit Pyllun and Smit Sports Club.

It was out and out closely fought game between the two teams where, Seng Samla secured the lead in the first half with two goals from Banteinam Kurbah in the 19th minute and 25th minute.

But Madan Lingsyiem Mylliem came back strongly from two goals behind to turn down the match on its head with a penalty scored at the 44th minute by Wanpynshgain Nongsteng, later Ores Buam scored the second goal and brought the score at level at 56th minute and finally it was Chanmitre Thma who scored the winner at 61st minute and the match ended with score line of 3-2 in favour of Madan Lingsyiem Mylliem.

In the second match of the day, Eastern Pirates defeated Nonghulew by 2-1.

Chess Nongdhar scored a screamer of a goal at the 11th minute from a freekick, followed by Maxx Austin Wanswett goal at the 21st minute had almost sealed the fate of the game for Eastern Pirates, but despite a solitary goal from Rimi Khongiong at the 67th minute of the game, Nonghulew couldn’t save the match, which ended with a scoreline of 2-1 in favour of the Pirates. On February 22, Mawlai Mawroh will take on Real Mythic at 11 am in the first match and in the second match, 7 Brothers will face Thunder Bolt Laitlyngkot at 2 pm.
