Nongstoin:
A man on August 7 surrendered to police in Nongstoin after his wife was found dead at their residence.
The man identified as Badonbor Rongrin, was handed over to the police by his family.
According to the accused family, he had fled to Mawlangkew village after the incident as he was afraid that his deceased wife’s family might kill him.
However, his family members convinced him to cooperate with the police and help them with the investigation.
According to Rongrin, he had gone to a neighbor’s house on the intervening night and when he returned home he found his wife hanging.
He said that he ran to the woman’s family to inform them but they did not believe him so he ran away due to fear.
A case has been registered and Rongrin is currently in police custody.
