MBDA celebrates International Women’s Day in Ri Bhoi

As part of the celebration, the DPMU also felicitated women who have excelled in the field of entrepreneurship along with workers of ASHA, ANM and GNM.

The Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) through the District Project Management Unit (DPMU), Ri Bhoi, organised a knowledge sharing event to celebrate the International Women’s Day, at the District Library, on March 8

Delivering the key address at the event, founder of Initiative Kamai Haba Shongkai and Eri Weave, Iaishah Rymbai, said that women need support in society from their male counterparts, and it is important that women are supported by their husband. “Men must know how to support women,” she said.

Deputy commissioner of Ri Bhoi, A Upadhyaya expressed happiness over the fact that the district has many talented women, who are doing better than men.

As part of the celebration, the DPMU also felicitated women who have excelled in the field of entrepreneurship along with workers of ASHA, ANM and GNM.

In addition, the DPMU also felicitated the best Integrated Village Cooperative Society (IVCS) for their good performance.

Besides the Deputy commissioner, the event was also attended by ADC and Project Director of District Rural Development Agency, BJ Kharshandi, various IVCS, entrepreneurs, NABARD officials, and also officials from the police department, among others.
