SHILLONG:
Meghalaya defeated Jammu and Kashmir (J and K) by 8 wickets in their first match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, on October 11.
The rain-affected match was reduced to 9 overs, as Jammu and Kashmir managed 81 runs after losing 3 wickets in their entire span of 9 overs.
Meghalaya on the other hand chased the total in 7.3 overs losing just two wickers, with Punit Bisht scoring an impressive 51 (not out) in 23 balls and Larry Sangma helping him with 23 (not out) in 13 balls to edge pass J and K’s total with ease.
Earlier during the day Meghalaya won the toss and elected to bowl first.
