Meghalaya govt distributes cheques to 1st entrepreneurs’ batch under CM-ELEVATE programme

SHILLONG:

To celebrate entrepreneurship and the spirit of entrepreneurs, the Meghalaya government, on February 9, handed over the first batch of cheques to individual entrepreneurs, collectives, and village organizations across Meghalaya under the CM-ELEVATE program.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma expressed his pride in Meghalaya’s entrepreneurship support programs, stating that CM-ELEVATE aims to further strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the state.

The programme intends to support over 20,000 entrepreneurs with financial assistance ranging from 35% to 75% of the project cost over the next five years, with an investment of Rs 300 Crore.

Sangma emphasised that CM-ELEVATE will ‘Engage, Employ, and Empower entrepreneurs’, creating opportunities for youth and boosting the state’s growth index.

He congratulated the entrepreneurs and urged them to strive for excellence in their endeavors, encouraging them to contribute to the state by providing opportunities for youth.
