MHA conducts training on National Disaster Management Information System portal

The portal will track the disaster impacts and hazards for the entire country up to the district level.

GUWAHATI:

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in association with Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) conducted a day-long training on the National Disaster Management Information System portal for officials of Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, on April 8.

The portal has been developed to capture damages owing to disasters and monitoring of funds disbursal under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for relief activities.

It was informed that the online system will track the disaster impacts and hazards for the entire country up to the district level.

“The online portal has two components. The first would help in reporting the data related to SDRF and NDRF from the districts to the state, and from state to centre. This module has already been launched and it is in use by other states. The second component would help capture disaster damage and losses and also for monitoring the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR),” Tripathi said.
