Militans fire on Assam Rifles troops at Indo-Myanmar border, one jawan injured

Militants from across the Myanmar border opened fire on Assam Rifles (AR) troops in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday. The firing took place in Tirap and Changlang districts. Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO) Tezpur said that one jawan was injured in the attack.

Militants from across the Myanmar border opened fire on Assam Rifles (AR) troops in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday. The firing took place in Tirap and Changlang districts. Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO) Tezpur said that one jawan was injured in the attack.

“The incident of firing on AR TPS (troops) by militant GPS from across the Indo-Myanmar border took place in the early hours of today in the general area Tirp Changlang. AR TPS are carrying out increased patrolling activities in view of the increased surveillance for the upcoming ID 2022. 1 x JCO has minor injury in hand,” tweeted Defence PRO.

It was reported that soldiers of the Assam Rifles were on enhanced patrolling in the area ahead of the Independence Day (ID).

As per a media report, the JCO was injured in firing near the Pangsau Pass in Arunachal Pradesh.
