MEGHALAYA :
The National People’s Party (NPP) Ranikor block on February 2, held a meeting at Mawthynrew Rangthong, South West Khasi Hills district to elect a new party representative after their former president Martin M Danggo resigned from the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
During the meeting, the party named Nelbi T Sangma as the new president and also chose presidents for the youth wing and women’s wing.
The leaders in close liaison with the supporters of the party decided to name two candidates, Nelbi T Sangma and Kitborlang Nongrem of which the state election committee will choose one as the party candidate from Ranikor constituency.
The gathering saw the attendance of Kitborlang Nongrem president NPYF, Nelbi T Sangma, H S Diengdoh candidate from Mawkyrwat constituency, leaders of the party, supporters and various others.
