IMPHAL:
The Public Relations Officer (PRO), Kohima, Ministry of Defence (MOD), on, May 5, informed that the situation in Manipur has been brought under control after the centre pushed in Army and the Indian Air Force (IAF) to control the situation.
According to PRO Imphal, the IAF took continuous sorties from Assam to Manipur employing C17 Globemaster and AN 32 Aircrafts for induction of additional columns.
“The IAF commenced operations on May 4 night, and commenced dominance of May 5,” the PRO tweeted..
Furthermore, Army and Assam Rifles continued to conduct flag marches in several trouble-torn districts of Manipur for the third day on Friday even as sporadic incidents were reported from different areas, officials said.
A defence spokesman on Friday said that flag marches were underway in several areas specially in the most volatile Churachandpur district.
He claimed that the situation was brought under control in many areas through coordinated actions by all stakeholders
