Former pastor from Unitarian Church of Jowai, H H Mohrmen on Wednesday said that he disagrees with people who criticised him for joining active politics.
Mohrmen resigned after getting permission from church authorities to contest the upcoming Assembly elections next year.
The former pastor said that he will contest from Jowai Assembly Constituency as All India Trinamool Congress candidate, as the party had assured ticket.
The former pastor is confident he will give a tough competition to the BJP. He added that he joined AITC because of secular character, as it does not interfere with religion.
He further stated that he wants to improve the degradation of moral values faced by Meghalaya in recent years.
