Narrow escape for 28 passengers after bus veers off road into ditch at Assam’s Medhikuchi

According to the police, the driver of the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) bus, which was journeying from Guwahati to Dibrugarh, lost control while trying to avoid a collision with a truck and veered off the road before hitting the ditch.

Twenty-eight passengers had a narrow escape after the bus they were travelling in veered off the road and fell into a ditch at Medhikuchi, Assam on May 14.

According to the police, the driver of the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) bus, which was journeying from Guwahati to Dibrugarh, lost control while trying to avoid a collision with a truck and veered off the road before hitting the ditch along the national highway. However, no passenger was severely injured in the accident.

Soon after, another ASTC bus was dispatched to fetch the passengers. On hearing about the incident, the Sonapur Traffic Police reached the spot and an FIR was also registered in this regard.
