NEFA organises fourth Ri Kunai La Tynrai festival at Umden

The festival was held to showcase the culture and traditions of the area, and included music and cloth weaving of the village, which is famous for Ryndia silk.

NONGPOH:

The Nongtluh Eri Farmer Association (NEFA) organised the fourth Ri Kunai La Tynrai festival at Umden village on December 20.

The festival was held to showcase the culture and traditions of the area, and included music and cloth weaving of the village, which is famous for Ryndia silk.

Locals of the village participated in different traditional dances and songs, with children of raij Nongtluh also taking part.

Another aim of the festival is to preserve the rich culture and tradition of the area like weaving, dance, song and food, and to pass it on to the youth.

Present at the festival were MLA of Nongpoh, Mayralborn Syiem, MDC Nongpoh, Balajied Rani, Father Glorius Syiemlieh, president of NEFA, B Mallai, leaders of the association, and many others from the area.

Syiem appreciated the leaders of NEFA for organising the festival from time to time, which will serve as a reminder to the youth about their roots.
