NEPA introduces 53rd Basic Course tailored for Dy SP, SIs

SHILLONG:

The North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA), on December 4, announced the inauguration of its 53rd Basic Course tailored for the directly recruited Deputy Superintendent of Police and Sub-Inspectors.

The distinguished ceremony took place at NEPA campus in Umsaw in presence Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, and the Director General of Police Meghalaya, Dr L.R. Bishnoi.

The Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the course, emphasising the critical role of well-trained officers in maintaining Law and Order.

In his address to the young trainee officers and the gathering, Tynsong stated that, it pained him when law enforcement officers are criticized while they are selflessly performing their duties despite keeping aside their self-interest even family life in the service of the nation. He encouraged the young trainee officers to not give up hope but rather to do their best in serving the nation. He motivated the young trainees to maintain self-discipline, and inspired them to improve their mindset and do best in their training.

Chief Guest has applauded the past and recent achievement of the Academy which was recently conferred with UTKRISHT accreditation by CBC and NABET and praised the Director of the Academy and faculty members. He further stated the importance of law subjects and public relations during training in police for performing their duties well. So, he encouraged the young trainee officers to start the transformation from within self and learn from the Academy which is among the best in the country.

The Director of the Academy Anurag Agarwal, IPS in his keynote address expressed gratitude for the profound presence of the Deputy Chief Minister, DGP Meghalaya, and other dignitaries.

In his speech he inspires the young trainee officers to do their best while they are being trained in the Academy and motivated them to be the best police officers in service to the nation. The Course Director of the 53rd Basic Course Dr. M.L Zou Assistant Director (Lecturer) presented a brief about the composition of the current batch which is a total of 95 trainees, from Meghalaya (SI=39, DySP=06), Manipur (SI=08, DySP=14), Assam (SI=15), and Nagaland (SI=04, and DySP=09). The current batch comprise of a total of 26 Female and 69 Male trainees.

The ceremony was attended by a gathering of enthusiastic officers, dignitaries, and senior officers from NEPA.
