SHILLONG:
A day after the state Congress secretary in charge of social media, Manuel Badwar, alleged that the new office building of the National People’s Party (NPP) is being erected without the approval of the Meghalaya Urban Development Agency (MUDA), the National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), the youth wing of the NPP, hit back at the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) demanding an apologise from them for making “childish” allegations.
Kitborlang Nongrem, state president of the NPYF, said the party did seek permission for the building at Bivar Road, Shillong and have relevant documents to prove it.
“We have all the documents with us. The permission we got from the Meghalaya Urban Development Agency (MUDA) was on December 22, 2020. The No Objection Certificate (NOC) for building construction from the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills district was granted on January 27, 2021,” he said.
According to Nongrem, the allegations made by the MPYC are “childish” statements devoid of truth and is an attempt to mislead the people of the state.
