NONGPOH:
The “Nongtluh Eri Farmer Association” organised the fifth edition of the “Ri Kunai La Tynrai Festival” at the Umden Village Playground on December 21.
The festival, hosted by silk worm farmers in the Umden area, aimed to promote and preserve the diverse cultural elements integral to the Eri community.
The event featured vibrant performances of traditional dances and melodious songs presented by various cultural groups, highlighting the Eri Organisation’s dedication to safeguarding cultural facets such as music, dance, singing, fashion, and rituals.
The festival garnered notable attention with the presence of distinguished guests Prestone Tynsong, Deputy Chief Minister, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Mayralborn Syiem, MLA of Nongpoh, joined as the Guest of honour. The gathering also witnessed the participation of esteemed dignitaries, including Marchborn Syiem Synjuk Rangbah Shnong of Raid Nongtluh, T. Syiem, Syiem Sad Raid Nongtluh, B Mallai (President NEFA), and other revered elders.
