State Congress president Vincent H Pala has said that going by his unpredictability it couldn’t be said for certain until he files the nomination papers whether Martin M Danggo will contest the February 27 Assembly election on National People’s Party (NPP) or Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket.
“He (Danggo) won from the Congress and without any reason he resigned from the Congress and contested the by-election and lost. He was with the NPP and then he joined the Congress. I worked with him for a few months. Then he left the Congress and returned to the NPP and then recently he left the party and joined the BJP. Looking at his track record and history, he is a very difficult man…,” Pala said.
“You will never know until he files his nominations if he will file from NPP or BJP. However, he will not be filing from Congress as we have already put up a candidate (from Ranikor),” he added.
Pala made the comment following Danggo’s decision to ditch the NPP at the last moment to contest on a BJP ticket.
While describing Danggo as a “difficult man”, Pala maintained that he is a senior politician in the state and did not want to comment much on him.
“However, from what I could see, he is not a man who you can predict and he has his own wisdom and style. But according to me, your actions reflect your background, mindset and ideology. Today you are with one ideology, tomorrow you change your ideology, so why should people vote for that type of people,” he said.
Pala was sharing his thoughts on the former Ranikor legislator and also offered a piece of advice for him.
“Danggo should think properly. I know there is a compulsion from his voters and leaders but sometimes leaders or supporters will all give you nice ideas but it is up to you as a leader to decide,” he said.
