NPP holds Youth Leaders Conference in West Jaintia Hills

Jowai MLA, Wailadmiki Shylla, State Youth President, Kitboklang Nongrem, and other leaders from West Jaintia Hills were present at the conference which was presided over by the Nartiang NPP youth wing President, Dameshwa Dhar.

The National People’s Party (NPP) under 1- Nartiang Legislative Assembly Constituency organised the Youth Leaders Conference cum excellence award for sportspersons at Ummulong, West Jaintia Hills on December 16.

Jowai MLA, Wailadmiki Shylla, State Youth President, Kitboklang Nongrem, and other leaders from West Jaintia Hills were present at the conference which was presided over by the Nartiang NPP youth wing President, Dameshwa Dhar.

In his address, the MLA asked the youths to be united and support the NPP for better governance. He also highlighted various development activities the present government has undertaken in the last four and a half years.

Speaking at the conference, Riki-o Shylla, Secretary NPP Youth wing, Ummulong, informed the youths that he was a Congress supporter in the last general Assembly Election but now he had decided to support the sitting NPP MLA, Sniawbhalang Dhar.

He lauded Dhar for being a dynamic person who has undertaken various development activities in Nartiang Constituency.

Dauni Phawa, secretary youth wing Wahiajer Unit said, this is the first time that the NPP Youth wing organised the youth leaders conference in Nartiang Constituency and urged all the youths in to be united for the all-round development of the Constituency.

Mutshwa Thabah, headman of Sohphoh, who is also the General Secretary of Nartiang NPP Block Committee, in his speech, said that the youths are the future for the all-round development of the constituency and the district as a whole.

He also lauded the youths who brought laurels to the Constituency in various sports activities.

The Conference felicitated Stephan pale and Wadajied Ryngkhlem both footballer who represented the state in the under 19 category, Solomon Shullai and Teimiki Passah both footballers who represented Meghalaya in the Reliance Foundation, Sanctify Pale an Athlete who represented Meghalaya and bagged Silver medal, Pormi  Lamare, who represented the state at national level and won a bronze medal, Luckyman Kynjing who secured first position in the world fitness federation, Alexander Lyngdoh – an Arm Wrestler who represented India, and Obadaiah Kelphang who represented the state and won a Gold medal.
