SHILLONG:
Deputy Chief Minister and NPP candidate from Pynursla Prestone Tynsong, on February 4, claimed that the National People’s Party (NPP) will get an absolute majority in this election, adding that the NPP will form the government on its own.
“We will come out victorious on March 2 crossing the number 32-33 seats, Tynsong said.
Commenting on the BJP wave in the state, Tynsong said that even in the 2018 elections, the BJP wave was similar, however, it turned out to be a cold wave, without any fruitful results.
When asked if the NPP will go into alliance with the BJP in case of hung verdict, the deputy chief minister said, “I don’t believe in hung verdict, and reiterated that the NPP is going to cross the required number.”
