SHILLONG:
The National People’s Party (NPP) candidate from Mawshynrut constituency, Gigur Myrthong on February 2 filed his nomination for the upcoming Assembly polls before the returning officer of West Khasi Hills district.
Myrthong was accompanied by his supporters and leaders of the NPP all the way from his constituency.
Speaking to reporters after filing his nomination, Myrthong said that his main goal is to put education first and to set up the people’s college in Mawshynrut.
He added, “This is the second time I will be contesting as an MLA and the need of the hour is for the people to choose a good leader. The NPP will be the party that comes into power once again.”
