SHILLONG:
National People’s Party (NPP) Candidate from Sohiong Samlin Malngiang exuded confidence in winning from the constituency, and maintained that sympathy vote will not work this time.
Speaking to The Meghalayan on May 8, Malngiang said that the NPP should lead the government with a single majority if they are able to win Sohiong.
“We will touch 29 if we win Sohiong, with BJP we will be 31, with Independents we will cross 33, and with HSPDP we have crossed 35, and it is easy to lead the government,” he said.
It may be mentioned that Assembly polls to the Sohiong constituency were rescheduled for May 10 after the demise of UDP candidate from the constituency HDR Lyngdoh.
