NRL presents 2nd interim dividend of Rs 95.63 crore to Assam govt

A spokesperson of the company said that as one of the leading public sector enterprises headquartered in the state, NRL will continue to contribute to the development of Assam.

GUWAHATI:

Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) presented the 2nd interim dividend of Rs 95.63 crore to the Assam government for the 2021-22 fiscal for its equity stake of 26% in the company on April 2.

According to spokesperson of the company, NRL director (technical) and managing director in-charge Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan presented the dividend cheque to the chief minister in the presence of industries minister, Chandra Mohan Patowary, NRL director (finance) Indranil Mittra, independent directors Dr S Lamare, Gagan Jain, Sudip Pradhan, Priyambada Keshri and other senior officials of the company at Janata Bhawan.

Earlier on March 16, the Board of Directors of NRL had approved the payment of the 2nd interim dividend for 2021-22 fiscal at 50% on the paid-up share capital of Rs 735.63 crore to the shareholders based on the profit of the company up to the 3rd quarter ending December 31 2021.

The dividend payable to the Assam government against its 26% shareholding amounts to Rs 95.63 crore.

“The 1st interim dividend for 2021-22 fiscal amounting to Rs 86.35 crore was paid to the state government as a part of its equity holding of 23.48% of the paid-up share capital of Rs 735.63 crore on November 29, 2021,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said as one of the leading public sector enterprises headquartered in the state, NRL will continue to contribute to the development of Assam.
