Many Jio users in Ri Bhoi district are frustrated by an ongoing outage that has left them unable to make calls or use the internet since the evening of September 3, as per reports. Although the cause of the outage is yet unknown, some reports claim that a fiber breakdown in the connection from Guwahati to Ri Bhoi may be the cause.
Many users are dissatisfied and want to switch to Airtel if the connection is not restored within this week, as per a study conducted by The Meghalayan.
One user, a lawyer, said that the outage has made it difficult for him to do his work. ‘I feel like I’m living in the stone age,’ he said. ‘I have to go to the office in person to meet with my clients, and I can’t even check my email.’
Another user, a businessman, said that he switched to Jio because he thought it had a better network than other networks. ‘But now I see that Jio is not as reliable as I thought,’ he said. ‘I’m urging the company to fix the outage as soon as possible.’
