National People’s Party (NPP) spokesperson, Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh who took oath as a minister on March 7, stressed on ensuring that the image of the NPP that is imbibed in the minds of the people, should be erased and added, “We have to start pulling our socks up, and I’m looking forward for the rejuvenation of the NPP and the coalition partners, MDA 2.0.”
Speaking to reporters after the swearing-in ceremony, Lyngdoh added that she does not anticipate any complex situations or confusion, as the ideas are in line with one another.
Further, when asked what the MDA 2.0 will bring, Lyngdoh said that issues flagged by the people of the state should be addressed, post-election stability should be restored especially with the fragmentation of mandate in Khasi hills being worrisome and added, “All political parties should unanimously decide to take it forward. We cannot afford to slow down development and progress in the state and in the interest of the people, we must all work towards a common goal.”
