With the spirit of “sabka saath, sabka vikaas”, the Central government is finding solutions for border-related issues, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said. The recent agreement between Meghalaya and Assam to resolve a 50-year-old border dispute would serve as encouragement for other states as well, the prime minister added.

Among the key issues highlighted by Modi included the initiation of the process to resolve border disputes among the Northeast states, limited withdrawal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and bringing militant groups to the mainstream.

“Recently, Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, was removed from 23 districts in the Assam. We have removed AFSPA from many areas of the Northeast as a result of better law and order,” said the Prime Minister.
